Shana Espinoza, MSN, RN, LNHA, Administrator
Shana currently serves as the Administrator of Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. A Masters-prepared registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Saginaw Valley State University, Espinoza began her nursing career at Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility in 2009. In 2012 she became Director of Nursing. In 2016 she earned her Nursing Home Administrator license before becoming Administrator in early 2017. She oversees a staff of more than 250. Espinoza is currently leading the new state of the art facility for Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, which opened in January 2018. It is the largest new construction project in Shiawassee County in more than 30 years. Additionally, she is a member of the Owosso Rotary Club, serves on Memorial Healthcare’s Board of Trustees, and assist as the MCMCFC District 4 Director.
Theresa Delau, RN, BSN, CDP, Director of Nursing
Theresa currently serves as the Director of Nursing of Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. A Bachelor’s prepared nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan-Flint and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Baker College, DeLau started working at Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility in 2011. In 2013, she was promoted to Quality Nurse where DeLau continued Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility’s dedicated efforts to achieving improvement in the Quality Rating System under the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She was promoted to Assistant Director of Nursing in 2016 and then to director in 2017. DeLau is a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner as recognized through the National Council of Certified Dementia Care Practitioners. DeLau also serves as the Quality Assessment and Assurance Chairperson for Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility.
Jamie Demerly, RN, Assistant Director of Nursing
Jamie currently serves as our Assistant Director of Nursing. She is an alumni of Baker College where she graduated with an Associate’s degree in nursing. She began her nursing career at McLaren of Greater Lansing as a cardiac/telemetry nurse. She joined our Pleasant view Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility family as a per diem nurse in May 2019 while working at McLaren full time. It did not take her long to figure out that this is where her heart is! Prior to her nursing career, Jamie was very involved in leadership at Michigan Farm Bureau. Jamie and her husband are third-generation owners/operators of a farm in Shiawassee County and also are co-owners of a local country store as well. In addition to managing the farm and the store, she and her husband have 3 beautiful children and 3 loveable fur babies. Jamie brings her nursing, customer service and leadership skills to that table that make her an invaluable asset to our family here at Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility.
Dr. Edward Christy, MD
Dr. Edward Christy MD currently serves as the Medical Director at Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Memorial Healthcare, Genesys Regional Medical Center and Hurley Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Coimbatore Medical College and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Christy specializes in Internal Medicine and also serves as the Attending Physician.
Stacy Meitler is a board-certified Primary Care Adult Geriatrics Practitioner with over 25 years of direct patient care working with adults and geriatric patients. She is a certified member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She was a certified nurses assistant prior to becoming a nurse. She is certified by the state of Michigan to train Certified Nurse Assistants that work in nursing homes. She also has worked a nursing educator at two local colleges including Baker College of Owosso and Lansing Community Colleges and enjoys teaching. She obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing degree in 2001, became a Registered Nurse in 2002, she graduated with honors from Lansing Community College. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University in 2006 and her Master’s degree in 2016 from Walden University in Minnesota. She became a board-certified practitioner in 2016. She has a master herbalist degree with a focus on diet nutrition, herbal therapy, and alternatives. She has a wide variety of settings she has worked in including home care, long-term care, hospice, acute care, rehab, critical care, and emergency room. Stacy enjoys spending time with her family at the lake, loves boating, fishing, gardening, and reading.
Sandy Lamb, HR Manager
Sandy Lamb Currently serves as Director of the Human Resource Department of Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. Lamb graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and began working at Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility in 2014, bringing more than 22 years of experience. Lamb enjoys football, boating, camping with her family. Lamb is married with seven children and one grandchild.
Jeffery Smithingell, Plant Operations Director
Jeff Smithingell has a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, an Associate degree in Business, and a certificate in HVAC/R. In 2010, Smithingell began his role as the Plant Operations Supervisor. Smithingell has been with Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility over 30 years, working in many capacities including laundry, housekeeping, activities, dietary, and maintenance. Smithingell currently oversees laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance departments and directs transportation and emergency planning details.
Amy Conklin, Life Enrichment Coordinator
Amy Conklin graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Services in 1999. She started working as a Certified Nurse Assistant on weekends and during the summer months while in college. This is where she discovered her passion for working with the elderly. After graduation, Amy started working at a Long-term Care Facility as an Activity Assistant and while there accepted a position as the Life Enrichment Director. Amy came to Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility in 2016 with 18 years of Long Term Care experience and currently serves as the Life Enrichment Director. Conklin lives in Corunna, Michigan with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and traveling to the Upper Peninsula.
Rachel Baldwin, PR/Marketing and Admissions Manager
Rachel Baldwin graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2018 with an Associate degree in Marketing and has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare. Baldwin began her career with Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility in 2015 as the Admissions Coordinator. Baldwin currently serves as the PR/Marketing and Admissions Manager for Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. Baldwin lives in Flushing, Michigan with her husband, Jason. Baldwin enjoys reading, gardening, interior design and spending time with her family.
Kelly Knieper, Business Office Manager
Kelly Knieper currently serves as the Business Office Manager for Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. She graduated from Baker College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She began her career at Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility as the Billing Specialist in 2013 and was promoted to the Business Office Manager in 2018. Knieper is married with two children and enjoys spending time with her family, camping, boating, biking, and reading.
Cheri Gokee, Food Service Manager
I currently serve as Director of Food Services of Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. I am a Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional. I began my career at Pleasant View summer of 1993, with over 25 years of experience working in the foodservice industry. I was assistant to the director of Food Service for Ten years and promoted to director of foodservice in January 2020. My husband of over 20 years and I are raising two lovely children together. We enjoy spending time with our family, stock car racing, camping, boating and love spending time at the beach.
